2010 Bloomington in Bloom Front Yard Contest Winning Yards
To recognize residential front-yard garden and landscape that give Bloomington its curb appeal, the Bloomington IN Bloom project held its second Front-Yard Contest.Nominees were located within the Bloomington city limits; show an impressive display of floral, garden and landscaping; enhance the surrounding area; and show creativity in the display.One winning entry was chosen from each of the following zip codes 47401, 47403, 47404, 47408.
Bloomington IN Bloom is a cooperative community effort.Initiated by the Bloomington Board of REALTORS, the city was entered into the America in Bloom® nationwide competition in 2010. Judging occurred June 18th & 19th, 2010.America in Bloom® is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to promoting nationwide beautification and personal and community involvement through the use of flowers, plants, trees, and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements. The Bloomington In Bloom judging was based on seven categories: floral displays, landscaping, heritage, community involvement, urban forestry, tidiness, turf & groundcover.The awards ceremony will take place in St. Louis, MO between September 30th & October 2nd, 2010.

Starting the week of April 5th and ending the week of May 17th, two judges in each of the four city zip codes drove around in search of outstanding front yards. Winners were recognized in the Herald Times newspaper as well as here on our website.
