Monroe County History Center:
Get Your Hands Dirty at the History Center
Gardeners and handy persons can have fun with their hobbies while helping the History Center. Get involved by maintaining our garden beds or helping to paint a gallery wall. This creative position is always changing. This year assistance will be particularly needed with exterior spruce ups and flower planting in late May and early June, as Bloomington prepares for the Bloomington in Bloom competition. The History Center will be a stop on the judge's tour.
Other ongoing volunteer opportunities at the center are available at http://monroehistory.org

The Wylie House:
Grow History at the Wylie House
The heirloom garden at the Wylie House is an ongoing project and volunteers are always welcome. From planting and harvesting, to maintaining and seed saving, there is something for everyone. Special assistance will also be welcome in late May and early June in getting the exterior grounds ready for the Bloomington in Bloom competition. The Wylie House will be a stop on the judge's tour.

The Hinkle-Garton Farmstead:
Plant Yourself in the Community at the Hinkle-Garton Farmstead
In the coming months there will be numerous opportunities to be involved in expanding the garden and beautifying the grounds at Bloomington Restorations, Inc.'s Hinkle-Garton Farmstead. Fruit trees will be planted and compost bins installed, the removal of invasive plants along the fence rows will continue, historic peony beds will be reclaimed and maintained, gladiolus corms will be prepped and planted, a new heirloom planting plan will be installed around the main house, and the new heirloom vegetable garden plan will be installed. All of these activities coincide with preparations for the Bloomington in Bloom competition in June. The Hinkle-Garton Farmstead will be a stop on the judge's tour.
Other ongoing volunteer opportunities at the farmstead are listed at
